Time Saving Mom Hacks // Instant Pot Recipes & Meal Prepping

Mommin’ ain’t easy! Am I right!?

As moms, or parents/guardians/caretakers, we have very full plates trying to juggle everything that keeps our families happy, healthy, and running smoothly. It feels like there is more being asked of us these days than ever before, so it’s only natural that we would look for some shortcuts to help us along the way. Enter my Time Saving Mom Hacks, featuring Instant Pot recipes and meal prepping.

Over the last few years I have learned a lot about doing more in less time by utilizing smart tools and systems to work smarter not harder. One of the areas this really comes into play is in the kitchen. Meal planning, meal prepping, and convenience food items have all helped out a ton, when I am remember to utilize them.

One of my favorite meal planning tools is the Instant Pot! Not only does this come into play when I forget to plan ahead (did you know you can cook chicken breast from frozen?) but it offers so many functions that it has become one of my favorite items in my kitchen. We use our instant pot multiple times a week to “set-it-and-forget-it” for items like rice, hard boiled eggs, grits, shredded chicken, etc. It’s also a great way to dump, stir and go for one pot meals!

Pinterest is a treasure-trove of recipes for the Instant Pot and other pressure cookers, and I have a board specifically for these recipes. The most amazing thing about the Instant Pot is that it also works as a slow cooker, yogurt maker, rice cooker, and has a timer.

Instant Pots come in a variety of styles and sizes, so there’s bound to be one that works for your needs. Visit my Kitchen Must-Haves list on Amazon to find all of my favorite tools and gadgets. Below are some of my all-time-favorite, tried-and-true recipes that we use all of the time. These recipes help to save my sanity as a mom by saving me time, stress, and energy. The Instant Pot is one of my best purchases to date, and I highly recommend adding one to your kitchen! (If you haven’t already)

This pressure cooking powerhouse is also great for full one-pot meals. I was shocked that I could make spaghetti and meatballs in the Instant Pot! What a time saver – not to mention dirty dish saver. There are so many awesome recipes like this that we have worked into our weekly routine. There are options for family friendly meals, health conscious meals, and pretty much anything you can imagine.

Meal planning is also a money saving strategy! If you know what you are going to cook for dinner each night, you are less likely to throw away groceries that go bad because they haven’t been used, or to order takeout from the local pizza shop. We also have a large chest freezer that we use to store extra meats and other things that we can on sale, and utilizing those items helps with the bottom line as well.
